Crudbusters area

Crudbusters is one of the best “bang for your buck” zones on the interior side of Thompson Pass. It’s not snowmobile accessible, so it’s a great human-powered touring zone. It features over 3500′ of direct, continuous fall line skiing along its north ridge. Beyond the north ridge’s first prominent bump, with its direct fall line skiing back to the road, the ridge is lined with long and steep chutes on both sides.

Crudbusters also provides access to classic Thompson Pass zones like the Iguana Backs, Wilbur’s, and Elephant. Endless potential exists in this area for the entire spectrum of backcountry skiing: from more casual tours to extreme steep skiing (as seen in the video below of the first descent of prominent Sunyata Mountain’s exposed north face by CMI’s Mat Brunton).
