Guided Backpacking Trips

Lake Clark Backpacking & Hiking Guide

CMI offers guided hiking and backpacking trips in Lake Clark National Park & Preserve June through September. Fly direct into the backcountry from Anchorage or with a layover in the one-of-a-kind Alaskan community of Port Alsworth. The park and preserve provides opportunities to accommodate every sort of mountain experience: mellow base camping and exploring, backcountry fishing, loop routes, point to point traverses, peakbagging, mountaineering, and granite adventure alpine climbing!

If passing through the incredible Turquoise Lake valley, camp on the shores beneath the towering granite peaks and enjoy a fresh caught fish dinner (excellent wilderness grayling fishing here)!

Visit Dick Proenneke’s historic cabin on Twin Lakes as part of a backpacking route, base camp hiking and fishing, or mountaineering traverse.

Contact CMI to discuss options and arrange the ideal trip for you or your group. Five to ten day trips recommended. Trip intensity levels range from 1-3 depending on clients needs and interests (learn more about intensity levels here).
