CMI specializes in custom trips tailored specifically for your interests, ability, and experience level (from absolute novices to the most experienced backcountry travelers).

Fly-in trips are available through Fairbanks (direct or via Coldfoot or Bettles). CMI also offers relatively affordable Arctic wilderness experiences from the road via the Dalton Highway (aka North Slope Haul Road).

Arctic Trips:

Backpacking & Hiking: late May into October (intensity Level 1-3)

Mountaineering: year round (intensity Level 1-3)

Backcountry & Nordic Skiing: November into May (intensity Level 1-3)

Ice Climbing: October into April (intensity Level 1-3)

Opportunities for base camp style, loop, and point to point traverses are limitless on the wide open and vast tundra of Alaska’s Arctic. Learn more about trip intensity levels here, consider the type of experience you’re seeking, contact CMI to discuss options, and CMI will arrange the best trip for you or your group. Come to Alaska prepared for an incredible Arctic wilderness experience! Considering how remote this area is, five to ten day trips are recommended (but shorter experiences are definitely possible).

Destinations and trip options are endless. Call/text 907-831-9686 or email Info@ChugachSnow.org for inquiries, availability, and to discuss possible destinations and trips. CMI can show you the most jaw-dropping, awe-inpsiring terrain of Alaska’s arctic mountains with an intensity level perfect for your needs and interests.
